The list was released by ESI International, a leading training provider for project management, and can be found in a slideshow published by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.information-management.com\/gallery\/10-project-management-trends-that-dominate-in-2013-10023775-1.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">InformationManagement.com<\/a>. In keeping with this trend (no pun intended), ESI identified a new wave of trends that will, this time, dominate 2014. ESI&#8217;s <b><i>top 10 trends in project management for 2014<\/i><\/b> are depicted in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.itbusinessedge.com\/slideshows\/top-10-project-management-trends-for-2014-03.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">this slideshow<\/a>.<\/p>\r\n<br \/>\r\n<p align=\"justify\">Of the 10 trends, here are the following that resonated with me, a person looking from the outside in:<\/p>\r\n<br \/>\r\n<ul style=\"padding-left:20px;\">\r\n\t<li >Virtual learning will play a key role in project management training for two reasons: (a) there\u2019s not enough time for training; (b) companies are no longer willing to pay for travel and other expenses associated with instructor-led trainings in classroom settings.<\/li>\r\n\t<li >With millions of dollars wasted in failed projects since 1990, companies will be implementing more drastic measures to turn things around. That can include lean methodologies and better leadership training programs.<\/li>\r\n\t<li >Project professionals will have to possess both soft and hard skills to \u201clead\u201d \u2013 rather than \u201cmanage\u201d \u2013 a team.
